Senior Research Manager (full time) – ASERNIP-S

Location: Adelaide, South Australia

The Australian Safety and Efficacy Register of New Interventional Procedures – Surgical (ASERNIP-S) is a project of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons within its Research and Audit Division. The ASERNIP-S project, which was established over nine years ago to evaluate new surgical procedures, has twelve research staff. This group produces systematic reviews and other kinds of evidence-based reports. Our stakeholders include the College as well as our state and national governments, and other non-government organisations. Additionally, horizon scanning reports and patient information concerning the reviews are produced as part of our remit.

This position is offered initially for a period of 3 years with the potential for renewal. Appropriate remuneration will be negotiated and will reflect the expertise of the successful applicant.

We are seeking an experienced research manager to oversee the review work, being able to mentor the staff in all aspects of reviewing. Key duties involve ensuring all timelines are met, representing the group to external stakeholders, supporting the ASERNIP-S Management Committee and ensuring high quality reports and publications are prepared.
Applicants should have strong communication skills, both verbal and written. A high level of understanding of evidence-based medicine principles is necessary. Experience in statistics and/or economic analysis would also be an advantage. Some travel will be required.

Salary:  An attractive salary will be negotiated. The College offers flexible working hours.
